Base Camp Jams with GSN and AOL

June 1, 2006

Base Camp Films will produce the Worldwide Web Games Championship television special for GSN and SkillJam Technologies. Together with Worldwinner, a subsidiary of FUN Technologies Inc., SkillJam is one of the world’s leading providers of online games competitions - they comprise a collective audience of 27 million online games. The competition will give away $1,000,000 to the best “casual gamer” in the tournament. Players from around the world can play to qualify at www.w3games.com, www.GSN.com, or at AOL Games. AOL Games will feature profiles of the finalists, and provide streaming clips of the broadcast. The tournament will take place on September 9 with the GSN special airing in December 2006. “We are thrilled to be able to bring our TV audience the first-ever Worldwide Web Games,” said Rich Cronin, president and CEO, GSN. Base Camp Executive Producer Jim Jusko thinks GSN is on to something big. “We’ve always tried to keep our eye on emerging trends to see how they can apply to traditional media - there’s nothing like a million dollars on a television show to bring attention to something that is relatively unknown.” “This is a great way for general audiences to find out about, and maybe join, the estimated 70 to 100 million people who play casual online games,” said Brady Connell, Base Camp Executive Producer and director. “We’re thrilled to be in business with GSN on such a monumental event…afterall, 13 episodes of ‘Survivor’ gives away $1 million - GSN is doing it in one day.”
