Base Camp is currently partners with LIC China to produce a Base Camp-developed large scale competition elimination series to be shot in China. Base Camp principal Brady Connell continues to showrun (and sometimes direct) sizable shows such as The Great Christmas Light Fight for Fremantle Media/ABC, Extreme Makeover: Home Edition for Endemol/ABC, Capture for CW, 72 Hours for TNT, and Outback Jack for TBS. Over the past few years, Base Camp Films has completed production on several reality projects including the one-hour pilot it created for Sony Television International entitled Six Degrees of X, the successful 8-episode series Filthy Rich: Cattle Drive for E! Entertainment, a million-dollar prize special for GSN entitled Worldwide Web Games, a scripted comedy webisode series for The Second City, a highly-rated documentary special for the Discovery Channel, a set of reality commercials for Suzuki, and the series No Boundaries, a 13-episode remote location shoot for the WB Network & Global TV (Canada) in partnership with Ford Motor Company.
Base Camp has developed television projects for MTV, Disney, TLC, Spike TV, Discovery, E! and SciFi cable networks, as well as for the FOX network with Ron Howard and Imagine Television (X-Quest). Base Camp has partnered with studios and companies such as ITV Studios, Fox21, FoxTV Studios, Scott Free Productions and BBC Worldwide on various non-scripted and scripted formats created or acquired by the company.
For video game giant, Electronic Arts, Base Camp produced the bonus DVD highlighting 10 years of EA’s successful game franchise, Command and Conquer. BCF also produced live action sequences for video game promotions for ActiVision’s Bee Movie and Shrek the Third promos.
Base Camp has released its first iTunes app (for iPad and Android) based on its own multi-level character-based children’s property “The Historables.” Base Camp also has a long-standing relationship with The American Red Cross, with whom it has developed a doc reality series based on the volunteers and staff of the organization.
With various strategic partners in networked media, including Spectrum MediaWorks, Base Camp is in development on several large-scale hybrid reality shows, and on projects ranging from non-fiction features to internet entertainment experiences. Base Camp founders and co-owners, Brady Connell and Jim Jusko, seek to carve out new territory in entertainment, using their experience in non-fiction television as a basis for creative exploration in other media.
